Ash and Lib Walker of the Armatree Hotel said they were ‘stoked with the news’ they had been named as finalists in the Best Bush Pub, Hotel of the Year – Country and Individual Operator of the Year categories.
The Walkers were aware of their nomination in the Best Bush Pub category, which they were also nominated in last year, but are very proud and honoured to have made the two other categories, given that they are nominations recommended by other members of the hotel industry.
“Lib and I are both extremely humbled and honoured about our nominations in the three categories of this year’s Awards for Excellence. It just shows that nearly 12 years of hard work does pay off and it is great to be recognised by others within the industry,” Ash said.
The other finalists in all categories provide stiff competition for the team at Armatree. In the Hotel of the Year – Country category there were over 900 eligible hotels in country and regional NSW, so to make the final ten hotels is a fantastic result.
“It is lovely to be recognised against some much larger hotels, especially in the Hotel of the Year – Country category, which includes several Newcastle hotels.
“We’re really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the night with people who have supported us from the outset nearly 12 years ago,” Lib said.
The awards night will be held at Star City Casino in Sydney on Tuesday November 20.
