Dubbo Hospital staff and their NSW Ambulance colleagues are supporting not-for-profit Share the Dignity’s It’s In The Bag 2018 appeal.
Their contribution is being coordinated by the hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) where a battered box already includes donated handbags that will be filled with pads, tampons, personal hygiene products and everyday luxuries such as nail polish.
It’s In The Bag is the third Share the Dignity appeal supported by the hospital’s staff and paramedics this year.
ED registered nurse Emilie Taylor expects donations of products and money to roll in.
“It’s the season to give and people are really happy to do that,” she said.
Share the Dignity reports of 85,000 homeless women in need of help this Christmas, including women affected by domestic violence.
The appeal’s collection point is “your local Bunnings Warehouse”.
