The Dubbo College star pummelled 115 at Armidale on Monday as Western started its campaign with a potentially crucial victory over a powerful Sydney South West side.
Larance set the tone early as his side, which includes fellow Dubbo College players Thomas Nelson and Ben Wheeler, posted 271 from its 50 overs.
Nelson made 21 while Wheeler finished 22 not out.
As well as the three leading Dubbo batsman, the talented Western lineup also features Bathurst talent Nic Broes and Blake Weymouth.
A number of Western players highlighted the bowling attack as the side’s weakness before the campaign began and there was a time when the Sydney South West lineup threatened to get away in the chase.
But they ultimately fell short, posting 230.
Western next plays Riverina and Sydney East.
