Sometimes after a horse scores a shock win the trainer is left to smugly say “I told you so” and point out they always had a feeling the outsider was capable of such a performance.

That wasn’t the case at Warren on Sunday afternoon when $41 chance Moralto stormed to victory.
Not even winning trainer Connie Greig could believe what had happened.

The veteran seven-year-old mare has been anything but easy to deal with and Greig went as far to say she was going to be retired following Sunday’s race.
But after the stunning win in the Kurri Kurri Boys Class 2 Handicap (1600m) she might have second thoughts.
With Andrew Banks in the saddle, Moralto made the rare move of getting out of the barriers well before settling towards the front of the field.
Stablemate El Vee Are ($7) was tipped by many as one to watch but it was Moralto who surged home and won by a length from El Rey Dorado ($5.50) and Unresolved ($6.50).
The win was just the second in 46 starts for Moralto and the first since a maiden win uder previous trainer Jamie Edwards at Stawell in September of 2015.
“She was actually retiring today,” a stunned Greig told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
“She’s shown nothing and we even said to ‘Banksy’ he wouldn’t be able to get her to jump.
“Banksy said he’s try to get her to jump and she did but she wasn’t supposed to win. We thought it was El Vee Are’s race today.
“That was a total surprise today.”
It was the lone win for both Greig and Banks on Sunday.
