Two of Lundholm’s maidens scored their first wins on Sunday in early race-to-race double for the Dubbo trainer.
Beechal took out the day’s first event, the Adors Hire and Louis Dreyfous Co Maiden Handicap (1000m) before Dusky Damsel followed that up with a win in the MCC Hydraulics Maiden Plate (1400m).

The win was a welcome one for Beechal, who had run second three times in six career starts before heading to Warren.
The mare was third-up from a lengthy 27-week spell on Sunday and with leading jockey Mathew Cahill in the saddle scored a dominant five-and-three-quarter length win.
Beechal ($2.60) favourites won from Copperendi ($13) and Power Of Dubai ($31).
Dusky Damsel’s win was nowhere near as convincing but was still impressive as the $4.20 favourite took the lead from stablemate Ben Shoof ($5) at the top of the straight.
Challengers came but with Greg Ryan on board the three-year-old filly managed to win by a length from a strong-finishing Wee Lassie (Reece Jones, $7) and Queen Isla ($151).
“We’ve just been playing around with her and get her right for the 1400m,” Lundholm told Sky Thoroughbred Central after the filly’s win.
“She’s been finishing off nice and well but the good barrier made the difference today.”
That was as good as the day got got Lundholm as he a pair of favourites missed out in the features.
Any Blinkin’ Day ($3.90 favourite) ran fourth in the Warren Jockey Club Sprint (1200m) while $4.60 equal favourite Hammoon Bridge was edged out by a fast-finishing Dapperized in the main Cotton Cup (1600m) event.
It appeared Hammoon Bridge would take out the day’s feature when he led into the turn for home and kept hold of the advantage at the 200m mark.
But Greg Ryan, having earlier won for Lundholm, produced a well-judged performance on the Gayna Williams-trained Dapperized ($7) and under some heavy riding the seven-year-old got home late.
The victory made it a winning treble for Ryan, who also took out the Complete Asset Management Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m) with the Brett Thompson-trained Fairy Fragments ($4.40).
