The then-reigning Group 11 player of the year, Dwyer shocked many when he defected to Group 10 club St Pat’s during the 2018 pre-season, the livewire custodian one of a handful of big-name recruits the Bathurst club landed for its inaugural season at new home, Jack Arrow Field.
Dwyer and St Pat’s endured a indifferent 2018, though.

Individually, the gun fullback won a Group 10 rep jumper and played in the 2018 All Stars game but, results-wise, battled to lift his new club to any great heights as injury cruelled the blue and whites and the premier league outfit missed the finals.
Dwyer’s impending move back home was always expected, and was confirmed by the Parkes club on Thursday, as was that of wrecking ball back-rower Brandon Tago. The pair will link to coach Parkes’ under 18s side in 2019 as well.

Dwyer made a number of great friends at St Pat’s and he says the Bathurst club was wonderful to him and the rest of the 2018 recruits, but there’s something about being back in the red, white and blue.
It feels like home.
“It’s going to be good to be back at Parkes,” Dwyer said.
“The club approached me and this was always in the back of my mind. All my good mates are at the club so it’s going to be great running around with them again.
“I really enjoyed my time at Pat’s as well. They’re a great club.”
Dwyer admits watching on as Parkes’ 2018 Group 11 campaign spiraled out of control also hurt, the Spacies finished in the top three but lost both semi-finals thanks to a spate of injuries at the wrong time of the year.
He’s hoping to make a difference in 2019, adding coaching the Spacemen’s under 18s side is a challenge he’s looking to embrace.
“I've done a bit of coaching before, a few junior league teams and a couple of touch teams too. The under 18s side last year was a good side and with the 16s coming through I’m confident we’ll have a good team,” Dwyer said.
The announcement of Dwyer’s combination with Tago to mentor the club’s under 18s was joined by news premiership winning Spacecats skipper Tyuanna Goolagong will step up and coach the Parkes’ league tag girls in 2019.
Dave Robinson was confirmed as the club’s reserve grade coach, while a first grade coach is still to be appointed.
