People who have served up to eight years in the Australian Defence Force and been discharged in the last five years will be able to access 1400 TAFE NSW Smart and Skilled List courses at no cost.
The initiative, announced by Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Veterans Affairs David Elliot on Thursday, is designed to help veterans in their transition from service to public employment.
"This is our way of saying thank you to these men and women who've given up themselves, who often made enormous sacrifices in support of all of us and the least we can do is support them," Ms Berejiklian told reporters.
The government's Veterans Employment Program, which has seen more than 800 ex-servicemen and women find work, will also be extended for another four years.
The program aims to help a further 1000 veterans find work by 2023.
