The town will be flooded by the colours red and black as the Western Sydney Wanderers make Glen Willow Stadium home for Saturday’s round four clash with the Brisbane Roar.

The Wanderers fans, in particular the group knows as the Red and Black Bloc (RBB), are known as some of the most passionate in the game and they’ll be certain to make their voices heard at Glen Willow.

“If they (fans) have never experienced the atmosphere of a football game before then this is the best way to do it,” Wanderers midfielder Jordan O’Doherty said.

“The RBB brings the best atmosphere so if they bring a good amount to the game, mixed with the community of Mudgee then it’s going to be a really nice atmosphere.”

Providing that atmosphere, as well as top-class football action, is something the Wanderers are eager to do out west.

“It’s always good to bring football out to the regional areas. Everyone deserves to see football at the highest level,” Jordan O’Doherty added.

“We’re really looking forward to it.”

O’Doherty’s teammate Nick Fitzgerald has also been out to Mudgee in the lead-up to the game this week and he said the clash with the Roar won’t only be special for the fans, but the players as well.

“We’ve never been out there before and it’s great to get out to the regional towns,” Fitzgerald said.

“We have a lot of foreigners in our team as well and they will see different parts of Australia.”

And in terms of the match itself?

“I think if we play our football and stick to our structure we can get the job done,” Fitzgerald said.

Kick-off is at 5.35pm at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Stadium on Saturday.
