Rain is expected to range from 10 and 20 millimetres in Orange, Dubbo, Cowra, Lithgow, Mudgee, Blayney and Parkes on Wednesday.
Senior Weatherzone Meteorologist Jacob Cronje said the temperature is likely to cool down through the week.
“We will see some showers this afternoon and that should help to cool conditions slightly. But overnight it could lead to uncomfortable temperatures,” Mr Cronje said.
“On Tuesday we are looking at a similar temperatures with a degree or two warmer before more significant rainfall sets in. In the afternoon we are going to see showers and thunderstorms developing and bringing widespread fall to 10 millimetres overnight.
“Throughout Wednesday we are looking at showers and thunderstorms bringing up to 20 millimetres rain.”
Mr Cronje says the region could experience very low temperatures in the early morning hours from Thursday onwards.
“Temperatures could drop down to two degrees,” he said.
“This change in weather conditions was due to combining of the inland system and cold-fronts.”
Mr Cronje says these type of cold fronts are not uncommon during the end of the year.
