Officers have responded to more incidents of items being reported stolen from parked cars recently, prompting them to remind people to ensure the safety of their belongings.
Orana Mid-Western Crime Coordinator Sergeant Adam Wood said police were appealing for the public’s help as they target stealing from motor vehicles.

“A number of windows are being smashed allowing them access,” Sergeant Wood said.
“We are calling for anyone with information assistance to let us know, call crime stoppers and report anything or any suspicious behaviours to target it.
He said police were responding to the recent spike with more police on the ground in plain cloths and in high-visibility.

“Obviously we are increasing our proactive patrols and bike patrols to try and target this area,” Sergeant Wood said.
Police have encouraged the public not to leave valuable items in their cars to ensure potential offenders are not encouraged.
