The event will be held at Barden Park on the weekend of March 30.
The 2018 Orana Relay for Life was originally planned for October 20 and 21, however the committee made the decision to postpone the event the night before after the Bureau of Meteorology forecast a severe storm.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Anyone who registered for the October relay will automatically get registered for the March relay. There were 22 teams and 136 participants who had put their hand up to take part, including 25 survivors or carers.
“We have had a lot of positive feedback on the new date so expect to see even more teams register for the event,” Cancer Council’s Katherine Bodiczky said.
The Relay for Life raises money for local Cancer Council projects. The committee was hoping to raise at least $50,000 for projects such as the recently launched Transport to Treatment.
More than $11,000 has already been raised.
Registrations for the Relay can be made at cancercouncil.org.au/oranarelay.
