The campaign aims to get defibrillators installed in Dubbo’s high traffic areas, including the CBD, sporting fields and shopping areas.
Dubbo Red Cross first aid trainer George Chapman is hoping to raise money for three or four more Automated External Defibrillators after members of the public highlighted areas of need. Each AED unit costs about $3300.

The Rotary Club of Dubbo has launched an appeal for the donations. The can be made at the South Dubbo Newsagent, news extra on Macquarie Street, the Australia Post office in Talbragar Street or the Old Bank Restaurant.
“There are signs indicating additional places that people can make a donation to the appeal. Any spare change will help us achieve the goal of getting these final few AED units,” Mr Chapman said.
“I would love to have them all in place by Christmas, it would be a great gift to the people of Dubbo.”
Mr Chapman said it showed how committed the businesses and people were to making Dubbo the safest city it could be.
“The people of Dubbo are clearly demonstrating the essence of community spirit. An AED is literally a life-saving piece of equipment and to have them in all the key areas of Dubbo will make a big difference,” he said.
