The construction of the fences is almost complete, with the fences around No. 3 already finished. With the revamp of the car parks in the area, Dubbo and District Cricket Association president Jeff Shanks is delighted with the look of the grounds.
“It’s come up really well,” he said.
“Once it’s all done it’s going to look fantastic and really picturesque, and that’s the whole point.
“Compared to those old steel fences it makes it much more attractive and players always dream of hitting the ball into the picket fence, or clearing it.”
RSL-Whitney Cup first grade players will benefit the most, playing at those grounds each week, while juniors will also get the chance to play there on Saturday mornings and a handful of Friday evenings.
Shanks and the DDCA added they were appreciative of all the work Dubbo Regional Council has done.
