The main issues Prince Harry and Meghan wanted to highlight on their tour were projects being undertaken by young people to address the social, economic and environmental challenges of the region. They also wanted to focus on conservation efforts.
Across the 16 days the royal couple had 76 engagements, from meeting with the Dubbo College Girls’ Academy to taking a stroll along the Redwoods Treewalk in Rotorua, New Zealand.
The visit to Dubbo in the early days of the tour is expected to have brought a $3.1 million to the Dubbo economy.
Former Wellington man Atticus Flemming also had a brush with royalty.
He received an Australian Geographic award in front of the royal couple. The inaugural chief executive of the Australian Wildlife Conservancy received a Lifetime Conservation Award.
Harry and Meghan flew back to London on Thursday.
