Tom Larkins and Joel Bones started IEC Advisory just over 18 months ago when the firm commenced trading in January 2017, and were proud recipients of the Baby Rhino Award for Startup Superstar which recognises businesses less than two years old that have a solid chance of market success, and strongly display entrepreneurial spirit.
The locally owned business is a holistic, accounting, business and financial advice firm which provides services including taxation services, business and commercial advice, investment and personal insurance advice, retirement planning and superannuation advice.
Director, Joel Bones, said the news of the win was fantastic for the business. “It is recognition from our peers that we have a credible enterprise and client value proposition. It is a great result for our team, and further boosts our already growing profile in the local business community,” he said.
While the past 18 months have been a period of growth and development Joel said the future goals for the business are much more clear cut. “Our focus is high quality advice, client outcomes and a great client service experience. We believe if we remain focused on that, our business will grow naturally. Our business has already doubled in size from when we started and we believe that growth trend will continue”.
Joel said there were many people they could thank for the win and their support including their families, referral partners and clients, but their team was key to what they had been able to achieve so far. “We really believe and invest in our team. With great people on our team, who are committed to our vision, we are able to deliver great service and outcomes to clients,” he said.
IEC Advisory focus strongly on being part of the community. The business is not only locally owned but employs people from cadets right through to principals and gives everyone an opportunity to thrive. They support numerous local community and sporting events and Joel said they hope to continue doing so for many years to come.
