Midwest Food & Liquor took out the Excellence in Business Award (over 20 employees) at this years Rhino Awards. Marketing Coordinator, Jo Giorgiutti, said the win was recognition for all the different parts that make their business successful. “The award is a wonderful testament to our incredible team, the strong relationship with our suppliers, and the amazing support we receive from our customers”.
Midwest Foods & Liquor is a locally owned wholesaler and distributor of food service products and alcoholic beverages.The business has grown from strength to strength and currently employ 80 staff and has over 200 years combined experience in delivering excellence in service. Their customers include pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, health, aged care and schools and are located from as far away as Bourke, Lightning Ridge, Forbes and Kandos.
Traditionally dealing in food service products, the acquisition of liquor wholesaler GH Cole & Son in mid 2017, allowed the business to expand their product portfolio to include alcoholic beverages and mixers for on and off-premise liquor business. They also acquired a new building that includes a retail outlet, offering an excellent range of wholesale products direct to the public. The business has also long been an active participant in Dubbo and surrounding communities, and regularly support regional events and fundraisers.
Jo said that the key to Midwest’s success all comes down to teamwork. “We have a united vision to provide a complete hospitality solution by working in true partnership with our customers, our suppliers and our team by delivering in full, on time, to enable all parties to achieve their goals,” she said. “With over 80 staff, and still growing, we pride ourselves on hiring quality staff from chefs, butchers and food service professionals, along with wine and liquor connoisseurs, to logistics and warehouse professionals. Our team can provide advice on any aspect of the hospitality industry”.
