The pair have worked together countless times in the past, and on Wednesday Tom will drive Joanandi for Michael in the For A Reason Pace (1730m) and also Im Super Sophie in the Bedwells Feedbarn Star Trek Heat 3 (1730m).
They are two of four drives for young gun Tom at Bathurst.
Im Super Sophie will go from gate four in the third of four heats of the Star Trek series.
Unfortunately for the Pays, it’s the same heat as Amanda Turnbull’s in-form Now Eye See.
Already this season the daughter of Bettors Delight has won at Bathurst, Dubbo and Eugowra, her only defeat being a close second in the Group 3 Canola Cup Final.
Up all her record stands at six wins and three placings from nine starts – not a bad return given she broken down as a two-year-old and is a terrible track worker.
“I actually didn’t think she was ever going to make it on her track work, but now we know that she saves it for the race tracks,” Turnbull said.
“She broke down in the Gold Tiara last year and had to have 12 months off, but hopefully I can have her right from now on.
“She’s a class sort of horse.”
Now Eye See has drawn barrier one for her final which will give her a chance to use her gate speed. if her record is any indication, if Turnbull can find the front she will be hard to beat.
“She’s draw one and she’s got good gate speed. She doesn’t mind leading, but she’s pretty lazy, she’ll only do what she has to do,” the The Lagoon trainer-driver said.
“I actually don’t mind it. She does absolutely nothing at home, but when she comes to races she goes out there and does it.”
Racing starts at 5.43pm on Wednesday.
