The specific collection zones and dates for each area can be found on Dubbo Regional Council’s website.
Dubbo Regional Council manager of solid waste Mark Giebel said the material to be collected should only go out the weekend prior to the collection starting.
While the bulky rubbish is normally collected in late August and early September the date was pushed back this year.
“It’s later this year as a result of the roll-out of the new bins and commencement of the new services. Our bulky rubbish contractor and council agreed to postpone the annual collection,” Mr Giebel said.
This year there won’t be a specific pruning collection.
“Green rubbish can be included in the bulky collection. However, the total collected remains the same – one cubic metre in total. We encourage people to use the green bins for prunings, etc first, to maximise the amount of green waste we recover,” Mr Giebel said.
Dubbo Regional Council is looking into the bulky waste collection.
Mr Giebel said alternative options for a clean-up program were being investigated for next year and a report with alternate options will be provided to the council for their consideration in the future.
