One of the big events of the festival will be the Drive-In, which runs from Friday to Sunday. It also marks a big weekend of film events, including the Latin-American Film Festival and Film Allsorts on Saturday.

- Anne Field
DREAM Festival committee chair Anne Field said this was the first year the DREAM Festival would also hold events in Wellington. Fong Lee’s Lane on Friday, October 26, will celebrate the Chinese community.
“My favourite event for many reasons is Zoocoustics on the Sunday, mainly because the festival committee all sort of falls in a heap and relaxes out there,” Ms Field said.
“But of course the Artist of the Year is probably one of the most important events because it recognises the many people who have been successful in the arts who have emerged from our region and I think a lot of people don’t equate Dubbo with success in the performing arts or the visual arts.”
Ms Field said she expected a bigger turnout to the DREAM Festival events than previous years, with people coming from Canberra and Newcastle.
“We’ve actively marketed the festival around the region. We’ve tried to make sure people know about it, particularly out west where there aren’t as many events to go to,” she said.
The committee chair said she was very, very excited to showcase some of the talent in the region.
