A preschooler from Dubbo with a sepia photograph has had a brush with royalty, adding a new chapter to his family’s ties with the Windsors.

Five-year-old Finn Doherty headed to Picnic in the Park on Wednesday with a special memento to share with Prince Harry.
The photo he carried showed the moment in 1927 his great-grandmother Rose-Marie Waddy presented flowers to the Duchess of York, later the Queen Mother - Prince Harry’s great-grandmother.
Finn attends Rainbow Cottage Childcare Centre. Its children and educators were invited as special guests to the Picnic in the Park.
Mother Edwina Doherty said they thought “maybe, just maybe,” Finn might be able to speak to Prince Harry.
“Finn was lucky enough to present the photo to Harry and have a little chat with him,” she said.
The moment was captured in photographs for the family.
“In one of the photos you can actually see Harry looking at the photo while Finn’s in the frame, so it’s very exciting,” Mrs Doherty said.
“Because it’s both of their great-grandmothers, Harry’s great-grandmother and Finn’s great-grandmother, so yes, it’s pretty special.”
