The Tamworth trainer took out the Coonamble Cup with the gelding on October 7 and now he has nominated Red Knot for Monday’s $45,000 Coonabarabran Cup (1600m).
Red Knot was one of 22 nominations received for the feature event while there was a bumper 195 in total for the eight-race meeting.
Northam, who had After All That contest The Kosciuszko at Randwick on Saturday, has enjoyed plenty of success with Red Knot and the six-year-old has become a regular on the country cup circuit.
He is one of many prominent names nominated for Monday’s feature, along with Cecil Hodgson’s A Magic Zariz, Mack Griffiths’ highly-accomplished Schedule, and the Gregory McFarlane-trained Our Winnie, a mare with five wins from her past five starts.
