The music event, in the laneway beside the headspace Dubbo centre in Church Street from 6pm, is part of headspace Day celebrations across Australia.
The centre’s manager Marijka Brennan, and community and youth engagement coordinator Amy Mines, were decorating the laneway from lunchtime Thursday and displaying posters that “flesh out” the tips.
“The seven top tips for a healthy headspace for youth aged 12 to 25 are get into life, learn new ways to handle tough times, enjoy close and connected relationships, eat well, stay active, get enough sleep and cut back on alcohol and other drugs,” Ms Mines said.
One of the posters will be placed in the centre’s chill zone where youth are always welcome.
“A lot of young people probably know what they need to do but it takes a while to build habits and when you are not feeling great, you just need someone to remind you,” Ms Mines said.
Live at the Laneway, run in conjunction with Midnite Cafe, will feature musical performances from Dubbo youth, painting, poetry, street theatre and magic.
Families are also invited to the event that will offer up a tasty barbecue and other treats provided by generous sponsors.
