After a property was damaged police said they would continue to be proactive and disrupt persons involved in criminal activity.
Police have appealed for the public’s help with an investigation into the break and enter in a caravan park in Dubbo on Sunday morning.
On Sunday about 5am police responded to a report of a break and enter at a caravan park in Whylandra Street.
Orana Mid-Western Police District Sergeant Adam Wood said police were told electronic devices and personal items were stolen from the scene.
“Police received a report a number of persons entered a white Ford Falcon parked nearby,” Sgt. Wood said.
Sgt Wood said police later attended the scene of a burnt out vehicle on the corner of Columbia and Cobbora Road where they found property inside the vehicle which “confirmed its involvement in the robbery.”
“Investigations led police to Voyager Way, where they spoke to a 16-year-old, after further inquires police recovered a number of stolen items, including the electronic devices.”
The 16-year-old was arrested and charged by police with one count of of receiving property knowing it to be stolen and one count of goods in custody reasonably suspected to be stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained.
“As inquiries continue anyone with information is urged to come forward,” Sgt. Wood said.
In another matter police responded to reports three young persons allegedly damaged a property in O’Donnell Street.
Sgt. Wood said a witness reported seeing three young persons inside allegedly smashing windows and damaging walls.
“Investigations led to the 14-year-old was charged with entering enclosed lands, malicious damage and stealing,” Sgt Wood said.
“The 10-year-old and the nine-year-old will be dealt with under the young offenders act by caution.”
Police said they would continue to be proactive.
