The High Tea involved old and new members getting together and celebrating the Primavera at 25 and Handmade Tales exhibits at the Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC).
Friends of Western Plains Cultural Centre president Kieth Yap said the event was a success for members.
“The event yesterday for the FOWPCC was a gathering to get membership up and spread the word that we’re busy,” Mr Yap said.
“We want to hold more small events where we can get together and celebrate the space.”
Mr Yap said Dubbo Regional Councilor Jane Diffy attended the event to listen to the members’ ideas.
“Cr Jane Diffy was on board and we were able to put our ideas across and make sure council are aware of what we want to do for arts in Dubbo,” Mr Yap said.
Mr Yap said members held a “vox pop style” tour of Primavera and Handmade Tales.
“That was really enlightening for the members who hadn’t seen them and members who wanted to understand how and why we do it.
“We’re absolutely passionate about both spaces in the WPCC.”
He said the committee was hoping to boost their membership numbers.
