Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana is encouraging not-for-profit organisations to apply for a share of the $200 million third round of the federal government’s Building Better Regions Fund.

RDA Orana director of regional development Megan Dixon says it is experienced in helping applicants.
Mrs Dixon said local government councils tended to get most of the funding but “quite a few not-for-profits manage to access money as well”.
More than $8 million flowed into the region from the second round of funding.
Baradine and District Progress Association received a second round grant of $600,000 to develop community-owned retirement housing.

Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said the fund drove economic growth and delivered “lasting benefits”.
“I urge all communities in my electorate to consider putting forward their strong project proposals,” he said.
RDA Orana can review applications and provide basic economic data.

It also offers a grant-writing service for a fee.
Applications close on November 15.
