Dubbo Regional Council mayor Ben Shields said the competitions was open to businesses in and out of the CBD, with the $1000 prize up for grabs in both an inner CBD and outer CBD category.
“I’m officially launching a competition for all the businesses in Dubbo to decorate their shop premises with the royal treatment! I hope to see a variety of displays celebrating this significant time in Dubbo’s history,” said Councillor Shields.
“I’m encouraging our local shops to have some fun and be creative with their displays, celebrate the fact that the Duke and Duchess have chosen our wonderful city to visit on their Royal Tour.
“We will have a lot of media here in the days leading up to the visit, they’ll be looking to get some coverage of all things royals, so this is a chance for the business community to have some time in the spotlight!” Cr Shields said.
The competition will be judged by Cr Ben Shields, Chamber of Commerce president Matt Wright and an independent judge.
Entries close on October 17. The winners will be announced on October 22 on the Mayor of the Dubbo Region’s Facebook page.
