Fly Corporate began its new Dubbo to Melbourne direct service on Friday and Miles was jumping for joy at the prospect of seeing his Nanna and Pa.
“I haven’t seen them in ages,” three and half-year-old Miles said. “I have missed them and it will be good to see them again.”
“It is convenient that I can take my two children to see their family in Melbourne,” Ms Hart said. “Hopefully I’ll get a bit of shopping in too.
“Flying will be a lot easier than driving there, especially with the kids, and it was cheaper for us to get a direct flight to Melbourne than it would have been going with a different airline and stopping over in Sydney.”
Melbourne resident Catherine Newin said regular catch-ups with Dubbo friend Pheobe David will be easier now direct flights are available.
“We’ll be able to visit each other without spending so much time travelling to and from,” Ms David said.
“I plan to fly to Melbourne to see Catherine in the next couple of months.”
“I haven’t seen Pheobe in quite a while, I came here on a train and a bus and it took more than 11 hours, so flying is much more convenient,” Ms Newin said. “I’d much rather jump on a plane and be here in less than two hours than travel by bus and train.”
Fly Corporate’s Geoff Woodham said he was delighted to launch the second stage of the Dubbo services.
“We are improving connectivity to the rest of the world,” he said.
“As a small regional airline we are trying hard to open up country NSW to travel and business opportunities and we look forward to growing with the people of Dubbo by providing quality services at reasonable prices.”
