Trent Smith, 32, of Young was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and related offences after the May 26 incident.
His father, well-known equine industry identity Ken Smith, died in the crash on Mogriguy Road.
On Wednesday the defence told Dubbo Local Court there were outstanding items in the brief of evidence and sought a four-week adjournment.
The matter was adjourned to October 17.
Mr Smith’s bail was continued.
