The event returns for its eighth running with a “jam-packed program” from October 18 to October 28, including drive-in movies.
The DREAM Festival is again setting its sights towards attracting not just local residents but also visitors from further afield.

One month out, festival chairwoman Anne Field said she was excited by this year’s program, with something on almost every day.
“For anyone that’s wanting to visit the city, they can add that to the great tourist attractions we have through the zoo and Dundullimal and Old Dubbo Gaol, and even tourist attractions in the region, obviously our Wellington Caves and further afield,” she said.
“So we’d like to think that people could come out here for a reasonable period of time, have a look at the area and be entertained by some of the many different events we’ve got on.”
The committee has received funding from Destination NSW to market the event outside the region.
In 2017 a campaign was undertaken in Newcastle and Canberra and resulted in an uptake of attendance from those cities.
Working with other organisations was paving the way to include partnership events on the festival program.
Among these is Wambuul River Dreaming, a day of water activities at Sandy Beach, an event created in partnership with the Office of Environment and Heritage.
Painting + Prosecco is new to the program that also sees the return of Music + Markets, Lantern Parade and other favourites.
