Central West Rainbow Alliance president Nic Steepe said the event would be held at Victoria Park on Sunday to mark Bi Visibility Day.
“Bisexual individuals form part of the LGBTI community but they often face unique challenges around certain myths around their sexuality not being valid. And they experience those both from the heterosexual community and from the LGBTI community themselves,” Mr Steepe said.
“Their sexuality is valid and it’s very important we make all bisexual people feel welcome within the Central West, that’s why we’re doing the barbecue.”

The Bi Visibility Day barbecue is a first for the Central West Rainbow Alliance.
“In the past I guess that we haven’t had the capacity but the more people who are putting their hand to help out to run events, the more things can actually happen,” Mr Steepe said.
The family-friendly event will run from 12pm to 3pm and is open to everyone.
