A DUBBO motorist has been issued with an infringement notice and lost his licence for driving more than 45km/h over the speed limit.

The male Class C licence holder was stopped by Orana Highway Patrol on Saturday morning as officers were conducting stationary speed enforcement on Louth Road at Cobar as part of the Central North District Strikeforce.
Louth Road is a 50km/h signposted speed limit area.
A post to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Facebook page advised the motorist allegedly said he “was running late for work”.
The male driver was issued an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h. The penalty carries a $2435 fine and the loss of six demerit points.
The man’s driver’s licence was also suspended for six months.
In addition, as the driver was not carrying his licence at the time he was also issued an infringement notice for not carrying his licence which carries a fine of $112.
During the same speed enforcement operation, officers also observed a Renault van travelling well above the speed limit at 6.32am.
The Facebook post said that the vehicle appeared to be increasing speed.
A check was conducted on Lidar detecting the vehicle up to 103km/h at the end of the check.
