As part of their assessment towards obtaining their Certificate Two in Kitchen Operations the students cooked a three-course meal for their parents, which was served by the executive staff from St John’s.
A mozzarella, semi-dried tomato and chorizo filo pie, spinach and feta stuffed chicken breast on a bed of pear couscous and ratatouille and a sticky date pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream were on the menu.
St John’s TAS coordinator and year 11 hospitality teacher Lee O’Leary said it was a great group to work with.
“The students work really well together, they are a great group and their teamwork is to be applauded as is their ability to work well under pressure,” Ms O’Leary said.
The evening also saw six students perform music in the background while parents and caregivers enjoyed the meal.
The students were supported by St John’s Hospitality teachers on the evening.
