Koala Luca made his media debut in 2014 when he was introduced to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. At the time he was living at Taronga Zoo, however he has since been moved to Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
The young koala may also get to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they visit Dubbo in October.
Meeting the royals helps promote the plight of the koala. Koala populations are continuing to decrease in mainly due to habitat destruction, bushfires and disease.
While it is known the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in Dubbo on October 17, their plans for the day will not be released until closer to the date.
