How far he has come.
The 19-year-old had a breakout 2018 season for the Dubbo Kangaroos, and two weeks ago packed his bags for Sydney after making the NSW Country side for the Under 19s Rugby Championships later this month.
The young halfback is already making the most of his opportunity, training with the NSW Waratahs’ Generation Blue development program.
“My goal in Generation Blue is to just learn as much as I can from these quality and experienced coaches and to just make new friendships – just like I have throughout my whole rugby career – and just really see where it can take me,” Berryman told TahTV.
He thanked NSW Waratahs development coach and Narromine product Pat McCutcheon for making him “feel right at home”.
“Establishing those type of connections just helps country boys make that move,” Berryman said.

“What I love most about rugby is just the friends you meet and the connections you make.
