The Westside club was thrilled to have a side in action on grand final day on Sunday and despite losing 22-10 to a rampant Parkes outfit, the loss didn’t dent the spirits of the Rabbitohs.
“We’re happy to be here. We didn’t think we’d make it and we’re here on the big dance, we’re pretty happy about that,” Rabbitohs star Tarlee Roberts said on full-time.
“We played well, really well. I’m proud of the girls and their efforts.
“We just couldn’t hang in there. We got on the board and that’s all that matters.
“Credit to Parkes and the girls. I couldn’t be any more prouder though.”
McGuinnesses Lucille and Madison were both tremendous in a beaten side, scoring grand final tries. While Sabrina Fernando and Roberts both produced incredible efforts in effecting try-saving tags.
