Drawing on the vast experience, talent and enthusiasm of the Dubbo Patchwork and Quilters Group, Handmade Tales showcases the incredible skill, artistry and creativity of its members.
More than 30 quilts will be displayed in the exhibition, alongside small objects like bags and cushions.
Quilts are an outcome of hard times. Homemakers (nearly always women) who could not afford to buy new blankets and quilts gathered together whatever scraps of material they could find and created objects that not only kept their loved ones warm but exuded a joy in the actual act of making.
The exhibit’s opening will be held on Saturday at 2pm.
