Number three came out twice during the draw – first, as part of the regular draw and then as the magical Powerball.
Oz Lotteries said there had been two winners who will each take away $50 million from the $100 million draw that had hopeful punters lining up outside newsagencies across the country.
One winning ticket was sold at a Sydney newsagency while the other was an online entry bought in Victoria.
The Lott spokesman Matt Hart encouraged everyone who purchased an entry from a licensed lottery outlet in Sydney to check their tickets as they could be Australia’s newest multi-millionaire.
“While we are unable to confirm the win with either of our winners, we can guarantee that when they discover the news, their life is set to change when their bank balance balloons by a whopping $50 million,” Mr Hart said.
“Make sure you check your entry tonight or first thing in the morning because you may not have to go to work tomorrow. Instead, you could start planning how you can play by your own rules and begin your life as a multi-millionaire.”
The winning numbers were: 33, 3, 32, 13, 27, 35, 31. Powerball: 3.
