Circus Oz acrobats Karen Edelenbos and Luke Taylor visited Dubbo West Public School to teach students skills such as juggling, hula hooping, tumbling, circus and theatre games.
Circus Oz is a troupe of performers that travel across the nation with their exciting theatre show.
Karen and Luke’s visit coincides with an upcoming Circus Oz show next month at Dubbo.
Although circus performance is something students at Dubbo West Public School are used to.
All classes at the school are part of an in-school youth program called Circus West.
Running for 25 years, the program was designed as an in-school welfare program dedicated to assisting young people through the trials of school life and preparing them for life in general.
Conducted by teachers Paul Woodhead and Rob Colley said the program also helps kids come out of their shell.

“The (shyness) difference is amazing,” Mr Colley said.
As well as helping students self confidence, the local circus program also assists with their physical development.
“And it teaches them to share and respect other people,” Mr Colley said.
Mr Woodhead agreed saying it builds students resilience, courage and perseverance.
Having Circus Oz come to the school also helps the teachers create new and exciting programs for the students.
“Which is good for professional development,” Mr Woodhead said.
