The Clontarf Academy held their annual employment forum with 13 local businesses. Employment officer Bruce Wilson said it gave the year 11 and 12 students the chance to hear their pathways moving forward.
“Some of the year 11 obviously will continue to go to school next year but they’ll have some sort of idea about what they want to do. There could also be a possibility for some part time work to come out of it,” he said.
Of last year’s 25 Clontarf students who completed year 12, Mr Wilson said there were about five who currently weren’t working full-time.
Mr Wilson said the academy support the students get job ready from organising tax file numbers to holding mock interviews.
