Fire crews received an emergency call at 6.30 am on Wednesday to the blaze near the corner of Brisbane Street and Newell Highway.
There were reports that the fire could be seen from Brisbane Street.
A big pile of branches and flammable debris made it hard to extinguish.
- Chris Cusack
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Dubbo acting station commander Chris Cusack said no property was damaged as a result of the fire.
“We had two trucks on the scene and firefighters used water directly from the trucks to extinguish the blaze,” he said.
“It took 90 minutes to get the fire under control because there was a big pile of branches and flammable debris which made it hard to extinguish.
”But once we assessed the scene it was a pretty straight forward fire to handle, it wasn't dangerous or fast moving.
“It is still dry and things can get out of control very quickly, so we remind people that it is illegal to burn rubbish, leaves and grass clippings in the local government area. We advise people not to burn anything off at all because it could turn into a dangerous situation.”
