Free haircuts and donated clothes will be on offer as part of an upcoming Homeless Week event.

On Wednesday, Orana Support Service is holding their annual Homeless Week barbecue and information day at the West Dubbo ovals from 2pm until 5pm.

Stuart House programs manager Skye Munro said she the event would raise awareness of homelessness in Dubbo, Wellington and Narromine, as well as highlighting the services available. Working in the industry had opened her eyes to the region’s homelessness, she said.

Wednesday’s free event will include a petting zoo, a clothing pool for women and children in need, as well as DVDs and books for kids.

On Thursday, Harry the Homelessness Bear will be at Orana Mall handing out chocolates.
