It’s the best result so far for the team of Scott Drady, Ben Moore, Brett Smyth and Joshua Loxley, who have represented Dubbo since 2015.
They continue a “mind-blowing” tradition, with Dubbo teams competing in demonstrations since the Volunteer and Insurance Brigades first tested their skills in 1887.
“It’s very impressive and a lot of the guys that are former representatives of Dubbo would be feeling the same way,” Mr Drady said.
“It’s very humbling to show them that we can still do it for the town and show Dubbo that we still have a very professional outfit.”
Dubbo performed especially well in the rescue, coming second overall. They will be hoping to carry that form into the State Championships, which Dubbo will host from October 25 to 27.

The event will see more than 500 people, including 150 firefighters, descend on Ollie Robbins Oval.
“It’s a good opportunity for all firefighters to hone their skills and have a bit of camaraderie and teamwork as well as a good week away,” Mr Drady said.
“It’s very stressful to get everything organised … but we’re very keen.
“We want to grandstand not only ourselves but the Dubbo region … and to have families and locals come and see their local brigade take out the zone championships would be ideal.
