In the show ‘The Women of 60s’ audiences should expect songs from Dusty Springfield to Shirley Bassey, Cilla Black and more.
Audiences will see plenty of costume and wig changes, as Ms Hogan embodies the women of that era.
But don’t fret if you think you’ll miss anything in between the outfit changes, because pianist Greg Riddell will play in between those costume changes to help keep the crowd entertained.
As well as Ms Hogan’s and Mr Riddell’s performances, they will each do sing-a-longs with the crowd and trivia dedicated to the swinging 60s.
“It’s very interactive,” Ms Hogan told the Daily Liberal.
“I love connecting with audiences and just mucking around I think is important.”
She certainly keeps herself busy with other projects too.
While the ‘Women of the 60s’ show has been going for eight years, Ms Hogan writes, performs and tours in a six other shows.
Ms Hogan has been in the music industry for years, and has a string of musical theatre credits to her name, including CATS, Mamma Mia! and Beauty and the Beast.
She was also a regular artist on Good Morning Australia and has produced various one woman cabaret shows.
What is so special about this particular show that is coming to Dubbo, is that Ms Hogan created it herself.
She believes what keeps the music of that era alive today are the beautiful songs with each telling a unique story.
“There was such amazing sing writers (in the 1960s).. and they actually tell a story and they’re timeless,” Ms Hogan said.
As well as performing all over Australia, including Queensland and Victoria, Ms Hogan also does shows on cruise ships.
“It’s very fun trying to do dances while you’re out at sea,” she laughed.
“I have to explain to audiences that I haven’t been drinking, it’s just the sea moving.”
Ms Hogan also does a meet and greet at the end of each show, something she just loves as she gets to meet her fans.
The last time she was in Dubbo was about 25 years ago for a national tour of the production ‘Cats’.
Ms Hogan visited Taronga Western Plains Zoo and hopes to see more of what the City has to offer when she comes back later this year.
Ms Hogan will perform ‘The Women of 60s’, at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre on Saturday, September 1.
The show will commence at 2pm. For more visit www.drtcc.com.au
A complimentary coffee/tea and slice will be held in the Theatre’s foyer after the performance.
