Parliamentary Secretary for Regional and Rural Health, Leslie Williams announced $3.9 million for Royal Far West and $5.3 million for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The funding is part of a $159 million State-Wide Ministerially Approved Grants program.
“Our communities deserve nothing but the best care and support possible and this funding recognises the role these two organisations play in regional and rural areas,” Mrs Williams said.
“This funding will ensure both Royal Far West and the Royal Flying Doctor Service can continue delivering essential health services to regional and rural NSW.
“Our 30-year partnership with Royal Far West has seen health and wellbeing services delivered to children with complex developmental concerns and their families who live in rural areas.
“Our longstanding partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service has seen aeromedical services delivered to areas in NSW that are otherwise incredibly hard to reach.
“This funding comes in addition to the health capital works investment of $550 million for regional and rural NSW in the 2018-19 State Budget,” Mrs Williams said.
More than 320 organisations will receive funding under the Ministerially Approved Grants program and many of these grants will benefit regional and rural communities.
