WPCC school holidays workshop tutor Pauline Griffiths said the program is held every school holiday period, with organisers varying the activities so the workshops tie-in with the current exhibitions.

“It brings students into this centre and they become familiar with it at their own level. We do introduce them to the gallery with the exhibitions, but it just becomes part of their everyday life, it’s about building awareness, social skills and craft skills.

“The parents come and join in and it’s nice family time,” she said.  

Sisters Charlotte, Elsie and Mary Hall said they enjoyed the experience together.

“It’s really fun because you can create whatever you want. I’m doing my favourite thing,” Charlotte said. 

“It was fun making art and a shaker,” Elsie said. 

“I loved making the shaker,” Mary said. 

Zara Morrow, six, said she had enjoyed the program on both of the days she went. 

“I’ve enjoyed it because you use your brain in arts and craft,” she said.
