The door sales, minus the hire of the PA system, came to $1580 and was donated to Legacy.
Thank you
I am writing this letter to thank the people of Parkes and surrounds who attended the Phil Emmanuel Tribute Night held at the Parkes Services Club on Saturday, July 7.
I was really humbled to see in excess of 200 people attend a musical celebration to remember my brother Phil who lost his live here in Parkes in May of this year.
I would like to make a special mention to the musicians who helped me organise the night, they offered their services for free and went above and beyond to make the night the huge success that it was.
Firstly, to Michael Green, Greg Hush, Peter Hannelly and Neville McHattan – you guys absolutely wowed the crowd with your musical prowess and skill, leaving them in awe of the talent we have here locally.
They were tapping their feet to your wonderful music, and it was just fantastic.
Secondly, to the members of Black Fortune who travelled all the way from West Wyalong and played for the second half of the evening, lifting the roof off almost!
Thank you just doesn’t seem enough, I appreciate what you all did for me more than you will ever know.
To the Parkes Services Club for the venue, handling the ticket sales and for your cooperation and assistance I am truly thankful.
To the Parkes Champion Post for helping me spread the word of the night, many thanks.
To everyone who I may not have mentioned, but you know who you are, who encouraged and helped me to organise the night, I thank you also.
It has been a tough few months, but when things like this all come together it lifts my spirits enormously.
I know Phil too would have been humbled by this event.
It was a fitting tribute though to be able to showcase some fantastic music which as you all know was Phil’s life blood.
Finally it gives me great pleasure to be able to make a very generous donation of approximately $1580 to Legacy.
They helped my family many years ago when we settled in Parkes.
We have never forgotten the assistance that they gave us, and after all this time I am thrilled to be giving something back to them.
