At about midnight on Monday a B-double truck, for unknown reasons, moved left and went down the verge off the left side of the road. The driver over-corrected towards the right and crossed onto the incorrect side of the highway.

He was able to return to the correct side of the road. However, this maneuvering caused the trailers to fish-tail and as a result the driver lost parts of his load which included a very expensive defense force vehicle which fell onto the road.
The 40-year-old truck driver was uninjured. Heavy vehicle equipment was used to tow the truck and the Australian Defense Force vehicle to the police holding yard.
“Police are still investigating the specific cause to the accident, with the driver assisting police,” Orana Mid-Western Police District Inspector Dan Skelly said.
