A number of last-start winners are set to go head-to-head at Dubbo Turf Club on Friday after nominations for the eight-race meeting were released.
Monday morning saw 142 nominations released, with 14 of those for an intriguing looking Benchmark 65 Handicap (1600m).
A number of in-form gallopers were put forward and three of those, Crim, Cuban Lass and Lamma Hilton, all won last start while Smart Attire has a win and two seconds in the past three starts.
Crim, trained at Mudgee by Cameron Crockett, is gunning for three straight wins having saluted at Coonamble and Wellington in his past two starts while the Brett Cavanough-trained Lamma Hilton hasn’t raced since winning at Dubbo on July 7.
Crim is no certain starter as Crockett has also nominated him for both the Highway Handicap at Randwick and the Carinda Cup on Saturday.
Hometown hope Cuban Lass, from the stables of Garry Lunn, returned to form last time out when scoring at Mudgee.
Lunn also nominated Umgeni for the race.
He is one of a huge number of local trainers who is set to be in action at Dubbo Turf Club on Friday, with the likes of Connie Greig, Lee Lunn, Dar Lunn, Peter Reynolds, Justin Stanley, Michael Lunn, Bob Caton and Catherine Chapman all nominating chances.
Finals fields are released on Wednesday.
The meeting is the Give Me 5 for Kids one, with money raised on the day going to charity.
