The Dubbo branch of the library will be hosting Health Infrastructure, the group behind the redevelopment, on Friday, July 19 from 12.30pm.
Macquarie Regional Library Dubbo branch manager Peter Irwin said the talk would inform the public about the progress of the development.
“I was actually we had our second daughter six months ago so we were up at the hospital quite a bit a little while back and there was certainly a lot of work happening then. I was thinking ‘I wonder what they’re going to do here and what sort of services are going to be here?’,” Mr Irwin said.
“If I’m asking those sort of questions other people would have been the same. I reached out to them and said we’d be interested in doing something for the community to let everyone know what’s happening.”
Participants will also be able to give feedback on aspects such as the design, furnishings and artwork to be installed.
“The talk falls within their public consultation period so it’s really an open forum where people can get information about what’s happening but also have a say and make comments on things like how it looks and the furnishings,” Mr Irwin said.
“It’s really nice for people to be able to have that input for something that is really important to the community and the region.”
Bookings can be made by calling the Dubbo library. Tea and coffee will be provided on the day.
Later in July the library will hold a Skywriters event featuring David Reiter.
Dr Reiter will talk about his work and Val Clarke from the Outback Writers Centre will lead a discussion about the Skywriters Anthology.
Two authors talks are also on the horizon.
On July 30, Australian author Sandie Docker will speak about her debut novel The Kookaburra Creek Cafe. It’s a multi-generational novel about three women in a small, Australian town.
While on August 6, Jenny Old will be at the library to discuss Back of Beyond.
