We are now officially halfway through the academic year, with session two beginning earlier this week.
On Wednesday, 18 July 2018 the Charles Sturt University community will unite together to celebrate Foundation Day, when the Charles Sturt University Act (Act no. 76, 1989) was signed.
Foundation Day gives us the opportunity to engage with our communities by telling of our ongoing value, commitment to them and what we do.
It is also an opportunity to have fun and promote worthwhile causes.
CSU Dubbo hosted the Indigenous Access Program for the first time in June. I’m pleased to share that 38 students completed the five day program, which helped assess their skills and suitability for courses available at CSU.
Last week, more than 50 students from around the region attended MyDay and participated in practical and general information sessions regarding the courses available at the Dubbo campus.
The Community-University Partnership (CUP) program is well underway, with successful applicants being chosen in the Indigenous Engagement and Sports Development areas.
There are still many opportunities ahead and I encourage you to share this with groups who may be interested in applying for a grant, it is a simple and easy process. More information about the CUP Grants program and the application process can be found at https://about.csu.edu.au/community/grants.

Earlier this year we launched our Alumni Access Program.
The goal of the program is to improve the usage of our wonderful facilities here on Campus and strengthen the ongoing relationships between the university, its graduates and the wider community.
The initiative will give University Alumni residing in Dubbo improved access to the Dubbo Campus including 24/7 access to the library and learning commons, gymnasium and the opportunity to book meeting spaces.
I encourage you all to share this invitation with your contacts and networks in order to assist CSU engaging with Alumni in the region. For more information, please contact Bart Sykes at bsykes@csu.edu.au.
Until my next update,
Cathy Maginnis,
Head of Campus, Dubbo
